Equipment
Surf simulators
Sheet wave attractions producing a continuous standing wave for surfing and bodyboarding on a compact footprint.

A pressurised system drives a thin sheet of fast water up an inclined, padded surface. Riders move against the flow on a board, which produces the sensation of a continuous ocean wave without a pool of any depth. The riding surface is soft, so falls are absorbed.
The commercial argument is a strong one: it occupies a small footprint, it draws a crowd of spectators as well as riders, and it supports paid lessons and sessions rather than being included in general admission.
We use the generic terms surf simulator and sheet wave attraction. Trademarked brand names for this equipment type belong to their respective owners and we do not use them.
